More about NICA...

This section is for for ALL students in Grades 6-12.  We offer two NICA programs that can be joined depending on where you live and/or which school you attend.

WHAT IS NICA?

The National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) is a Cycling League for Middle and High School students representing their school or an area "composite" team.

WHY REGISTER WITH NICA?

Registering with a NICA Club/Team is necessary for Middle and High School students because of TNT’s collaboration with the regional North Nevada Interscholastic Cycling League (NICL). Through this collaboration we receive coach training & certifications, team structure, insurance, shared team events like Teen TrailCorps and GRIT (girls riding together), and an ability to participate in NICL regional cross-country race events.

  • Team fees include 1 XC race event entry (optional to participate)

  • Northern Nevada NICA Conference typically has 5 races in the Fall from August thru October

  • TNT's NICL association is with the local high schools - North Tahoe and Truckee. If you are enrolled in a different school with a NICA/NICL registered team, you are not eligible for North Tahoe/Truckee teams. If you are in another school or homeschool, choose the team that is best for you.
